Fortunately for you, Luke has worked up a brand new table to add a little spice to your trip to the tavern. It\u2019s actually a combination of rumors and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check it out, use it in your game and let us know how it goes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tavern<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Travelers meet at the tavern for a drink, a meal and to share news. You can slake your thirst here, hire help and listen to the rumor mill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Drink<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2724 Drinking at the tavern satisfies your hunger and thirst. You may also make recovery tests (as per the normal rules) for angry and afraid, if you order more drinks.<br><strong>Drinking Lifestyle Cost:<\/strong> +1 per drink<br>\u2724 Each drink you buy at the tavern earns you a rumor. Roll on the Tavern Rumors table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tavern Rumors and Events<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After you buy a drink at the tavern, roll 3d6 for a rumor!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3<\/strong>     <strong>The strange elder.<\/strong> A kindly old woman approaches your table and\u2026(GM chooses one)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Drapes an elven amulet around your neck.<\/li><li>Drapes a cursed amulet around your neck.<\/li><li>Gives you a basket of baked goods.<\/li><li>Implores you to avenge her son\u2019s death.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4<\/strong>     <strong>A cloaked figure sits huddled in the corner, coughing blood.<\/strong> Beckoning you closer, you see something valuable clutched in his moribund hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5<\/strong>     <strong>Enemy expedition.<\/strong> Your enemy, well-equipped but secretive, enters the tavern with a motley group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6<\/strong>     <strong>Rival crew.<\/strong> You meet unlikely and unreliable would-be adventurers looking to add to their crew. Will you join forces?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7<\/strong>     <strong>Sudden appearance.<\/strong> Your friend, bedraggled and disheveled from the road, bursts into the tavern with an incredible tale to tell\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>8<\/strong>     <strong>Beware.<\/strong> As you leave, the hosteler warns you to look out for\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1-2 Bandits, raiders from a nearby hostile holding<\/li><li>3 Goblins, orcs or gnolls raiding near the settlement<\/li><li>4 A troll who lurks under a bridge<\/li><li>5 Ghosts who haunt the road<\/li><li>6 A giant who straddles the river<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>9<\/strong>     <strong>The traveler.<\/strong> You meet an injured\/terrified traveler arriving with a tale of\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Abduction<\/li><li>Robbery<\/li><li>A terrifying detour<\/li><li>A bizarre place<\/li><li>A miraculous happening<\/li><li>A frightening monster<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10<\/strong>     <strong>An omen of things to come\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An unkindness of ravens mocks you from the trees outside<\/li><li>The moon is red\/the sky is red.<\/li><li>As you leave the tavern, the road is utterly silent\u2014no bird, no insect, no animal makes a sound<\/li><li>Thunder rolls and lightning crashes in the distance<\/li><li>A stone carved with strange runes sits concealed in the brush just outside the tavern<\/li><li>The wind seems to howl your name<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>11<\/strong>     <strong>Watch rumors.<\/strong> An old man who was on watch last night tells you that ghouls were seen digging in the grave pits last night. Roll for who was actually digging in the grave pits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ghouls<\/li><li>Grave robbers<\/li><li>A desperate necromancer<\/li><li>Foolish children<\/li><li>A group of deranged wastrels<\/li><li>A barrow wight<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>12<\/strong>     <strong>Job offer.<\/strong> You meet people (farmers, guildsmen, priests, nobility) looking for short-term muscle to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bolster a holding<\/li><li>Drive off some troublesome monsters (kobolds, bridge troll, restless dead)<\/li><li>Investigate a mysterious happening<\/li><li>Recover something from a recently overrun holding (a hostage, valuables, a keepsake, lore)<\/li><li>Safeguard travelers. Roll d6: 1 pilgrims, 2 merchants, 3 nobles, 4 priests, 5 regular folk, 6 a messenger<\/li><li>Settle a score<\/li><li>Re-establish contact with someplace lost<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>13     Dismaying news.<\/strong> You hear a rumor that strangely fits the details of your parents, their livelihood and an entirely credible calamity which has befallen them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>14     Messenger.<\/strong> As you depart the tavern, a messenger chases you down and delivers a sealed message from your mentor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>15     Bon chance.<\/strong> Your hosteler says she will foot your next bill if you would perchance help her with delivering a small package to her friend in a nearby town. If successful, you can stay at these accommodations for free for your next stay in this town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>16     Challenge.<\/strong> A drunk warrior holds the door and challenges all comers. If you dance with him, test your Fighter vs. the warrior\u2019s Might 3, Fighter 6 and Level 3 Duelist trait or sit down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>17     Drunk priest.<\/strong> A drunken temple priest babbles about propitiatory rites to the Jotunn to be held beneath the temple this very night. She says they will sacrifice (roll d6):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An orphan<\/li><li>A captive<\/li><li>A terrible beast<\/li><li>A book of knowledge<\/li><li>A spell book<\/li><li>A powerful item<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>18     Spurned lover.<\/strong> The irate paramour of one of the leaders of this place is in the tavern spinning tales. Roll d6. They talk about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Their lover\u2019s tainted nature<\/li><li>An incoming shipment<\/li><li>A strange visitor<\/li><li>Their charlatan behavior<\/li><li>A terrifying ritual<\/li><li>The dark secret of their lover\u2019s spouse<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello friends!
